Next, phantomdoom would reach out to users with an urgent email.
Embedded in the email was another installment to this "plato interception" series of videos. This one is simple and short, containing Phae picking up and holding up a sort of item. The tune in this video resembles what's heard at the ending of Phantom Doom out of Psychowarrior.
If users clicked with the link within said email, they would be redirected to a tracker which seemed to be based in NYC. It was clear that another hunt seemed to be taking place, this is especially supported by the expiration date attached.
And finally, if you clicked on the skull in the email, you'd be redirected to this image of someone who seemed to be connected to a sort of visor.
Users would would coordinate amongst eachother to see exactly what was being tracked, the only other hint that they could go off of from afar was of an [ascii art] file uploaded onto phantomdoom.net on the same day, representing a mysterious figure.
[Here] is a link to the chat within the discord channel when this event was first flagged to, for those curious. I think that this was the first event that I myself began tracking, and many who I know engaged with the ARG at a later date highlight this as being what dragged them in.
In addition to this, some anons would post messages to the phantom doom sendi chat which implied that there was a limited number of *something* to be obtained from this hunt.
"Only ten left"
With community effort, several individuals would be able to intercept the source. As it turns out, the person represented in the [ascii art] was a point of contact who would hand out copies of these small booklets.
The item seemed to be a small manga under the name of "A Call to Arms" with an advertisement for Psychowarrior on the back, stated to be released on October 24th.
Below is a pdf / scan of this comic, and here is a [link] to a folder containing physical examples thanks to Saiko (@/saikopathic) in the MG discord server. (Sort from "last modified")
Here are various videos I was able to find of people retrieving this item: [X], [X], [X].
The contents of this comic would reveal a short story about the origins of this "Call" entity, and Dr. Y. This would provide us more insight for this "Arm" entity.
To summarize the manga:
In the beginning, it seems that someone is being recruited by Dr. Y to be a part of The Arm. In the usual style of The Arm with their cryptic wording, Dr. Y seems to imply that by joining them, they will become more "knowing."
Next, we are shown this flashback in the perspective of Dr. Y, who is travelling with this "Call" character into this secret facility at the bottom of the ocean. Its revealed that Dr. Y actually worked for GNS when he was younger, expressing that he's aware of what GNS was, but worked for them because of what kind of pay they'd offered. A few months prior, Call was shown to have been found on the street and kidnapped by GNS; With Lily mentioning that their "boss" was expecting a candidate for an unknown purpose.
Call is then shown to be strapped down to a bed, with Dr. Y expressing a sort of guilt before doing what he must do. He activates this switch that is presumedly meant to kill Call, but what then takes place appears to parallel what happened to Phae in ways. Call “awakening” some kind of psychic power within her.
After Call kills some other scientists, Dr. Y is approached by Call. Dr. Y then pleads for his life, saying that he can fix this. Call ultimately spares Dr. Y, and transfers some kind of vision into his mind before collapsing.
Afterwards, Dr. Y states that Call can rest now and that "we" "will take care of everything from here." He says that the vision he provided her allowed him to escape, build a new home, and "be free of the choices that liverated me." with "every step effortlessly following in the shadows of future memory."
Weird stuff!
Call now appears to remains held captive at a location which seemed to be arranged by Dr. Y himself, calling it a returned favor because of her "guidance" and "protection" she provided him with. The POV also shifts back to him and the recruited party, who wishes to opt-out after hearing everything. Dr. Y proceeds to drug him with contact regardless, highlighting that after he reawakens, he will understand "how little concerns matter."
In the panels where the vision was transferred to Dr. Y, there also appeared to be a new figure with a bird mask, and on closer inspection to the faces surrounding this figure appear to be Phae, Matt, Sean, and others that I cant quite identify.
Though this is largely cryptic in nature at this time, I find this to be especially interesting to read over especially after intaking the ARG in its entirety.
A panel in this manga would also contain a number on Calls' wristband, calling this number would also give you a small preview of Rabbit Season before its release! I don't have an example of this unfortunately, but it was just a roughly 30-second audio of the beginning of it in low quality by what I remember.
